Hi all, As provided for at the end of 2013 when we agreed the current regulations for 2014, we now have a chance to make certain amendments and clarifications to our rules. These amendments and clarifications will be incorporated into the 2014 regulations as at the end of September. Thereafter the regulations will again be locked until we get another chance as provided for, at the end of December. This is what we had agreed - quoted from the regulations: THESE REGULATIONS ARE NOW LOCKED FOR 2014. THE ONLY CHANGES FROM NOW ON WILL BE WHEN NEWLY RELEASED CARS HAVE BEEN PARITY TESTED FOR INCLUSION IN THESE REGULATIONS OR WHEN ANY SPECIFIC PART IS REPLACED BY SCALE AUTO WITHOUT NOTICE. THESE AMMENDMENTS (if required) WILL ONLY TAKE PLACE AT THE END OF MARCH, JUNE AND SEPTEMBER 2014. THESE TYPES OF CHANGES WILL ALWAYS BE SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY OF CARS AND PARTS TO EVERYONE RACING IN AUSTRALIA - AVAILABILITY ON THE WWW WILL BE CONSIDERED ACCEPTABLE. There are three such points at the moment that need to be mentioned, two of which may require some clarification in our current rule set: - The first is the inclusion of the Viper. The Viper in both white RTR and prepainted RTR versions, the lexan window and interior kit and the Viper specific body mounts are now freely available and from parity testing seems eligible to be included in our regulations. - Next, the complete exclusion of the 'magnet box' on the latest chassis. Scale auto have now fitted a magnet, enclosed in a little box fitting and mounted directly in front of the motor on the latest chassis. It is suggested that this complete assembly is removed for purposes of our rule set. By doing so any concerns about what may or may not be inside the 'box' will automatically also be discarded. The opening left by the removed magnet may however be filled with lead or non-magnetic material as the builder see fit. - And specific clarification around the availability of the aluminium H-plate as part # SC- 8101al. This part has actually been available all along and many RTR cars have had it fitted. Therefor making it 'legal' is only fair and will allow anyone who possibly did not buy a RTR car with this part, to also now get the reduction in weight advantage. Thank you for your participation in this process of ensuring our rules are agreed between all of us and not allowing changes at any time or at the whim of some organiser or participant at an event, or just before an event without due notice. This discussion will be closed at the end of September 2014. Cheers, Jan
