Wow been a while since an update! Haven't had much time of late to put in long hours of work in one go, but finally...braid is done! Next time I might try the double sided tape and see how it goes, gotta be quicker and cleaner than glue? Not using "used" braid again either as all the little bumps/twists/bends picked up along the line made it hard to get down good. Anyway here's a couple of pics of track needing power (and barriers)

I soaked my old braid in a pail of shellite for days and it came up real clean.

Good to see some progress!

did the same mate, clean wasnt the problem, just all the kinks/bends etc

At least you've got 3 lanes going... Think I'll get out there this arvo... off to Bunnings to get a decent work light!

Congrats Shane... but you seem to be able to drive your camera better than your cars!!! Hahahahahahahaha

Cheers,

Dick

That is one cracking track, I absolutely love the circular bit in the middle, you must be chuffed with the results - I like the fact that it flows so well, slowest portion appears to be the section just past the pit exit.

thanks Mark, I got the barrier up on the top section (had a few long crashes onto concrete) and got a few different angles of the kids doing laps today

Been working on pits and driver stations lately, here's where I'm at:

colour coded driver stations

005-10.jpg

pit wall fixed in position and barriers installed

009-8.jpg

routed a guide size slot in the dummy pit bays for some dodge em cars in pit racing (looks better than empty too)

ready now for the concreter's to do their work on the pit surface

Those pits look the business Gref, love the squeeze in the pits, very nice. Out of curiosity are drivers merely required to stop.

pits are only used in fuel racing or pitstop racing
