Hi all,

Some photos of the Plafit Masters Track used back in 2010 :

The track will be back at the same place at Brisbane's largest Ford dealership and their beautiful showroom. However the track layout will be different so that we again have a neutral track situation with no "home advantage".

Here is a small video made at the 2010 APC showing parts of the 1/24 Formula 1 race as well as some of the very nice 1:1 Ford GT display cars.

It certainly shows the size of this track and the perfect location for it.

More info can also be read at the 2010 APC thread here on Auslot : http://www.auslot.co...-championships/

There are also lot's of photos from the 2010 event.

The official APC website you can access here : http://www.aplafitc.com.au/

Entries will be accepted starting from Saturday, 9. June 2012. Entry forms will be available from the APC website as well as during the upcoming Model Car Nationals in Adelaide where you are also able to see the cars for all the classes to be raced at this year's APC. You can also ask all the questions about this phantastic international event.

See you all in Queensland in September.

Cheers

Werner

Hi Werner,

Any idea when the race schedule will be available please?.

I am planning to go to my first APC to. Really looking forward to it. Like Davnic I would love to see a schedule the cars are great fun to drive and pretty even in performance

The provisional schedule has still to be compiled but should be available in the next few weeks.

Basically we will follow the 2010 format where on Friday there is free scheduled practice for 12 hours divided into six race car classes. The tech. check for the first two car classes (being 1/32 GT Division 1+2) might be followed that evening after practice has closed.

On Saturday racing will start with both 1/32 GT classes followed by the Mini-Z GT and the 1/24 Historic's in the afternoon.

Motor hand-out for two classes raced on Sunday (1/24 Formula 1 + 1/24 GTJ) will finish the day.

On Sunday racing starts in the morning with the 1/24 Group C Team Race. After that the Ford vers. Chevrolet Celebrity Challenge will commence before lunch time. The 1/24 Formula 1 qualification and races will follow and the 1/24 Japanese GT's as the main event will bring the 2012 APC to a close in the late afternoon.

As usual it will be a very comprehensive and strict schedule which will well depend on the number of entries.

Cheers

Werner

i am looking to have a go at two classes, which are most likely to be the most competative and the largest number of entries? I am leaning toward f1 and historics, have raced a lot of flexi car and gtp 12's before so not real keen on hard body stuff.

Hi there,

Hard to say which class will attract the most entries. Back in 2010 it was the 1/32 GT class followed by the 1/24 Historic's, if I remember correctly.

The most competitive class ? Well, all seven classes certainly are, as we will have the best model car racers in OZ competing together with some very strong Japanese drivers on a neutral track.

Hope to see you at North Lakes in September......

Cheers

Werner

Hi Jason, Welcome back to Slotcar Racing.. or Model Car Racing as some of the purists prefer.

As an old "wingcar" and Flexi driver I recommend you dont restrict yourself just to the Lexan classes. I resisted for a few years going "hardbody" but have to admit have had some of my best race experiances with them. If for no other reason than good race strategy you should procure a Mini Z for the APC. There is limited time to get used to the track so this way you get the opportunity for more practise sessions and race experiance ahead of your preferred Lexan events. Usually, the APC practise sessions only allow similar class cars on the track at the same time. I think last time there was about 3 practise sessions per car class so the more cars you enter the more track experiance you get.

See you at the APC

I'm sorry to hear that Noel . It's annoying when life gets in the way of living . Good that your busy though . It's always disapointing when the headlining acts don't come to town . I personally have been looking forward to racing against the best racers on a neutral track for some time now . It was the whole perpose for me getting involved in Plafit racing in the first place .

Entries don't close until the lights go off , so if you get a break in the trafic or change your mind at the last minute ...........I'll be trying hard to give you guys a dust up :P

Good going Chris , looks like there will be a few first timers this year .

Cheers

Paul

I am really looking forward to it. I am out to the Jazzbell man cave this friday to play with setups and get a couple of cars started. I can't give away too many secrets about my mini z project but the new avatar is a good clue. Going to build a 1/24th historic to. The events are much more fun for me than regular racing. Hopefully i am not the only one from SA to attend.

Hi all,

With the 2012 APC less then 4 weeks away, it would be a great help for the event organization to now have as many confirmed entries as possible.

So please complete your APC Entry Form, include your payment and forward it back to us.

This can be done by e-mail or by posting. Payment is possible by Cash, Cheque, Bank Transfer or Credit Card (Visa + MasterCard only).

Of course, by true APC tradition, included into the entry fees is a very attractive looking APC 2012 T-Shirt.

If you require any additional event information, please get in touch.

See you all at the 2012 APC in North Lakes, QLD in a few weeks time.

Cheers

Werner
