jimmyslots 1950
Dust has settled & jet lag recovery completed on another very successfull APC in Qld. A very big thankyou to all the Queenslanders for their great hospitality to make it such a pleasure to compete with some of the best slot racers in Aus & of course Komura, the Tokyo Tornado for being so helpfull in sharing his setup tips with everyone. As usual Gary Johnson proved once again to be the best race director in Aus,keeping to racing moving along & making the tough decisions to keep everyone happy with his dry humour. Thank you Andrew Bartholomew & Werner for all their hard work in making the APC an event for all to remember fondly. I was especially impressed with the high standard of driving from all the Rookies to APC & all looks good for the future of Plafit racing in Aus. Torque Ford again provided a fantastic venue for the APC & it's great to see a major car dealer ship getting involved with Slot Racing. Finally thanks to the guys from Dapto for the great company & help pitting on another away trip, plenty of laughs & many a good moment to remember. Cheers Jimmy Quote To finsh first, first you gotta finish
Paul NZ
Great to spend a few days with all the people from other states, its always hard to make the trip but its always worth it, you boys from Dapto are good value, I will have to make a trip down some time in the future This was my second APC in 4 years and it has made me want to be involved a bit more, I will have to get to Andrews a bit more than once every 3 months Big thankyou to Werner, Andrew, Gary and all the rest for a great weekend Cheers Paul Quote Paul NZ - Scale with Detail! Camber
I can only repeat what everyone else has already said, what a fabulous weekend....I still haven't come down yet. Werner, Andrew B, Garry, Torque Ford deserve full credit for a great event. Awesome to meet Akira and Komura, very humble and helpful. Special mention to Paul Stevens in his first APC, top bloke and a great racer. Looking forward to the next one. - Cam Quote Hoo Roo
first corner crash
Great weekend. Always winners and losers and this weekend i was a big loser. If it could go wrong it did go wrong for me. Also realised i have raced once in nearly a year other than the nationals so i need to get back into race mode as i over drove every car. Learned lots about car builds and how to improve them. I think this type of car now has a decent following of good drivers and enthusiasts nationally that any win is to be cherished. Looking forward to Hornsby in november with improved cars and a controller that works. Quote 4x national champion 6x national runner up. I come second most often but my girlfriends happy. paulthetexan
Thanks Shane , Standout is probably a bit strong , I'd say lucky . A few of my cars had good pace but some classes I just got lucky . In Historics I qualified midfeild then circulated in a heat that was very clean and drove to 4th on the track only to leap frog Noel on Concours points . Div 2 I was lucky not to get tangled in a masive 2nd lap pile up and just drove off into the distance . Andrew B was away for most of practice so that finished his campain . I think Simon was missing his mechanic also . The only bit of bad luck I had all weekend was in F1, I got taken out at the end of the last heat by a back marker to let Troy Boldy through , but still managed to podium . Lucky . Talking to Noel and Kim after it sounds like they spent alot of time under a marshalls armpit  If anyone else has any stories of epic crashes or great drives please share . The pit area was quite spread out so I didn't get down to the other end with every thing that was going on . Would be nice to here some other racers stories . Camber
Mini Z race was the highlight for me. Coming into the last heat less than the length of the track was separating 1,2 & 3. A very memorable race, all of us were pushing hard the whole way....great stuff. - Cam Quote Hoo Roo
Noel B
Yeah sorry about that bump Cam coming on to the main straight.. That's racing I guess. Full credit to every one involved in the event you all did a great job.. Also to all the racers it was a pleasure to race with you all and to be done in great spirits with no one losing the plot. paulthetexan
Here's an interesting fact ....... In the Historic class Apart from Kamora , 2nd & 3rd place cars were 1300 chassis cars . Noel ran 3rd on the track with a 1700 chassis , but still if you count the top 4 it's 2 a piece .
