wwwace
Super32 GT Division 1 and 2 Plafit's only 1/32 race class. This year we will have one race each for both Divisions (1 + 2). So you can enter in both Divisions as these are separate Championships. Please refer to the official body/car list in the Technical Rules section on the APC website. Division 1 is mostly for larger mid-engine GT cars while in Division 2 front-engine and small mid-engine cars are used. There is also a car weight difference rule between both Divisions. New for 2012 in this class : - Open gear ratio - 3/32 diameter axles and running gear - Updated body/car list

wwwace
1/24 Historic's First of the two APC 1/24 Lexan body classes. This class has recently become very popular in Japan where our Aussie made Historic's bodies are exclusively used. For this year Plafit has designed and released a new 1700 chassis version (the 1700C) especially for this class. This chassis is available in this assembled ready-to-run version with glued and trued black 17mm Racing Wheels. It features a new non-traction magnet silver Main Chassis Plate and a complete new designed blue T-Plate. There are no Front Axle Base Blocks anymore as the 3309C Rear Bearing Holder are used. All other parts are out off the current 1700 Chassis system. The new 1700C Chassis is also available as a chassis kit only (1700CX). For the 1/24 Historic's class it is also possible to use the standard black 1701 Main Chassis Plate (please refer to the "Techical Rules" for this class). That way you can build your own chassis without having to strictly use the assembled 1700C RTR version. For the first time two chassis are allowed to be used within the 1/24 Historic's class this year. On top the good old 1300 Excel Chassis, below the new 1700C Chassis. Both were built up with Chevron B19 bodies. New for 2012 in this class : - Updated body list - Two chassis (1300 Excel and 1700C) can be used - Any Plafit 17mm diameter Wheels including the light weight Racing Wheels are allowed Of course as in previous APC's all car entries will receive concourse points (maximun 20) which will be added to the overall race result. So, please make sure that your car is well presented and features all obvious detail parts. Edited July 22, 2012 by wwwace
wwwace
1/24 Group C First of the Plafit hard body classes where the body is built out off a static plastic model kit. New for 2012 in this class : - The maximum chassis width for the Mazda 767/787B is 65.0mm (including flat body mount plates). This class will be raced in a team race format this year. Two drivers, one car only, four lanes per driver. Depending on the time schedule and the number of entries we will try to race a 8 x 5 minutes duration. wwwace
1/24 Formula 1 The second Plafit car class with a vacuum formed Lexan body set. These will be the fastest cars around the Plafit Masters Track. New for 2012 is that there are now three body sets to choose from. The up-to-now design of an approx. 2005 Formula 1 car (ACE 24922) as used as in previous APC's. The two new body designs, left an approx. 2011 Formula 1 car (ACE 24923) and an 2012 version (ACE 24924) with the distinctive flat nose on the right. Yes, there is a Formula 1 red light kit available with the flashing warning light typical of today's F1's. These body sets come with a 3-piece rear wing and a driver figure without head. There are also two optional front wing top pieces. Other detail parts like mirrors and a camera on top can be sourced from static model kits. First tests have shown that the two new bodies do fit well onto the Plafit 2800 Chassis without interfering with gears and wheels. The cars are running very quiet and smooth. It is recommended to secure the rear wing with two staples on both sides underneath in addition to just glueing to give everything more stability. All in all these new cars look much more realistic then the older 2005 version.
wwwace
1/24 GTJ (Japanese GT) This is a true international class especially popular in Japan and it is the main event at every APC. New for 2012 in this class : - The total car weight for the Lexus SC430 has been reduced to 165.0 grams - Flexible (rubber) supports for the rear wings of all three cars are now allowed
axman
Gee, thanks Werner. All of us with Mazda's now have to change our cars. Why the change?
wwwace
Gee, thanks Werner. All of us with Mazda's now have to change our cars. Why the change? ....You don't have to thank me, Kim..... This change to the Mazda has been decided for the QPC this year and this is now in line with the APC. The reason is similar to the chassis regulations within the GTJ class with the Honda NSX, to reduce the performace a little to bring it in line with the other cars in its class. The side skirts underneath the Mazda are part of the body and according to the regulations have to be retained anyway. Same with the Mazda's in Mini-Z Group C. Don't worry, you will not have to build a complete new car now. Just reduce your chassis to 65.0mm width using the appropiate flat body mount plates (you can even modify them to suit the main chassis plate if necessary). If you have cut off the side skits on your Mazda body, replace them with plastic stips using the same shape as on the original body. After that re-mount the body. Remember, Wayne Bamble did the same thing to a Honda NSX back at the 2010 APC within 30 minutes.......... Cheers Werner

Garry J
Werner, Group C class regs allow the SLP1. Looking at retail sites around the world this appears to be the same chassis you sell as the SLPJ. Is this correct? Please clarify if the SLPJ is OK to run in Group C. Looking at retail sites around the world this appears to be the same chassis you sell as the SLPJ. Is this correct? Please clarify if the SLPJ is OK to run in Group C. ...Yes, this is correct, Garry. The 1700SLPJ (commonly known as the SLP1 Chassis) is certainly allowed to be used. This is the version for 13D sized motors and the only one which is available here in OZ. Any European only SLP1 versions or the 18D variation can not be used. Cheers Werner

Back in 2010 we had a little shop there with some display as well. This year we hope to expand this further with maybe a local Plafit dealer involved. Chris1810
Werner can you please explain the following section from the technical rules of the histroics class please. 2.12. The Front Chassis Plate Excel 1304C can be shortened only above the two long holes which fit the Front Axle Bracket in order to fit low-front bodies. However both long holes must be retained entirely. Does this mean that the upright section of the front chassis plate can be modified (lowered) to allow for the low front end of my Lola body???
