Gee Really !!???,....

How Amazing !!!,...Especially as NO One actually Owns,..and/or Runs one that I am aware of at HSC !!,... :o:huh::blink::mellow::D

I Wonder Who is/are the people at HSC that are/would be considering to Enter as a Team ??

I'd have to say, that casually, I have Not heard ANY talk Re; the Purchase of or Desire to Race the ScaleAuto Cars whilst at the Track and as You (Obviously) Know FAR More than I do regarding this 'Event',.

any Further info' regarding 'interested' HSC 'Locals' Shane ??

I guess, being an HSC 'Local', Am somewhat Intrigued by the 'announcement',..

:blink::)

Dam .. you're quick out of the gate Stoo.. We approached James and asked if he would consider letting us run one of our Scaleauto enduro series at Hornsby. We are simply using the facility as we have already done at other locations with great sucess. Its a great way to get together and do what we love most... Race Slotcars in a team enviroment with cars that seem to work really well for enduro racing. I also mentioned to James I would love to team up with some Hornsby locals, (specifically mentioned you, and Foxy or perhaps James)

Foxy's in...you up for it?

P.S. we have also offered a race ready car to Hornsby so we can get the locals to field a team... Not sure that offer extends to Troy though .. he might beat us!

Hey,

I know they are a lot slower than you HSC Guys are used to, but they are a lot of fun and can be made to last 8 hours (depending on how "hot" the power is).

Lets get some HSC Wing Car/Retro racers to have a go, Lindsey, Wayne, Cody, Chucky, Stoo, Fox etc?

Still waiting for Scaleauto parts to come into Australia via the distributor.

Would have to start preparing the car shortly - have to learn a lot about these cars - they do not "go'"out of the box. Major development is needed.

Maybe I could team up with Lindsey and the Axman? ( the "old boys" team? ).

BTW any news on a new King Track in Sydney? FYI Talked with Chris at Thunderbird yesterday on the best place to locate the old Redline King. Looks like the "finger will be in the south east corner. I wonder what time a Scaleauto car could do around a King (my guess 4's)

I have spoken to Andrew & Simon up here Shane and there should be a team from these guys plus one. There goes one of the Team NSR drivers It would have been a lot easier racing with him rather than against him.. Kim looks like he will be teaming up with some racers, very fast racers at that from Hornsby... I see Sammi has expressed interest ! This would be great if he entered a team.

Dam .. you're quick out of the gate Stoo..

Not really,..I simply sat down in front on the PC,..hit "Show New Posts",... and there it was !!,.. and ,.. as mentioned,..not having heard any previous talk of such a thing,..thought "What The,..??"

I also mentioned to James I would love to team up with some Hornsby locals, (specifically mentioned you, and Foxy or perhaps James)

Foxy's in...you up for it?

Well,..what can I say Kim,,..(apart from Thanks for the offer/suggestion),..But,....I don't know How you do it,.... you Obviously have a Far Greater Pull/Influence over our Dear friend Fox, than I do !!!,... :),...he didn't even race in the recent Retro State Titles,...?

P.S. we have also offered a race ready car to Hornsby so we can get the locals to field a team... Not sure that offer extends to Troy though .. he might beat us!

I'm sure James would be appreciative of that offer.

Having often 'traded' fastest laps, places and podiums with Troy,..I'd suggest the Driver line up would be 'lacking', were he Not there !!,..but we Would have to try to 'Balance' His skill against the Others in his team !!,.. :)

Hey !! ,.. Dennis,..Lindsay, Wayne Fox and Myself, are all the Same age,..it's you and the Axeman that are the Old Buggers !!!! :D:lol:

Would be good to actually see you again,.. :)

Whilst I doubt I will acquire one of these cars myself, (mainly as I am Happy running what I do and also can't really afford it anyway), I'd be happy to 'have a Run',..with Foxy and yourself, HSc or whatever,..

Strangely though,..(as I have mentioned to you independantly Kim), Enduros have Not proven to be Popular at HSC and elsewhere of late,..the last event being part of what was a Really good Class/Series, which was for 'Realistic' looking/detailed Endurance style cars from the late 60's and 70's, using a Champion Flexi style chassis and Parma 'DeathStar' 'Hand-Out motors and hand Out Tyres.

They Were Really Great events,.. although considerably Shorter than your proposed 8 Hours !!,..but sadly, we Only had 4 x teams for the last round at HSC and we almost had to 'Hornswaggle' some of the entrants in the Last Retro 2 hour enduro !!

8 hour Team enduros were a perhaps somewhat arduous but enjoyable part of my regular slot racing calendar when much younger, along With (in fact) Lindsay, Wayne, Mark and myself as a "Team".

All the slightly Older HSC racing regulars all whinge about, not being able to stand up for that long,..knee trouble,...needing a chair to sit on etc,..etc,...hmmm,...come to think of it,..they Are Long brackets,..might get Foot Cramp !!!,...:wacko::unsure:;):P:D

Quote from Stoo ... They Are Long brackets,..might get Foot Cramp !!!,...:wacko::unsure:;):P:D

I'll get Fox to bring his new walking frame.. its got a special clamp to hold the controller. Heh Heh. Actually, we only drive for 20 minuts on each lane ( x 3 drivers equals 1 hour per lane) That way each driver has driven all 8 lanes. At the 20 and 40 minute mark with track power still on drivers stop their cars in the middle of the main straight, change drivers, and keep driving. Very Le Mans.

You then administer foot rub, medication, whatever.

I see Sammi has expressed interest ! This would be great if he entered a team.

I have a full team of drivers locked in, but it's not set in stone yet as we will need to see if we can all get time off work etc etc....

Should be a great event with or without us :D

Spoke to the guys tonight & X-Treme would like to enter 2 teams & if there is room a third team could possibly be thrown together to make up a full field of 8.

I've never done an 8 hour enduro before so a poppy nap out the back might be required for us seniour citizens.

I've every confidence in the Scaleauto's running the distance with all their weak points sorted out, should be a great event to be a part of & looking forward to catching up with everyone.

Cheers Jimmy :D

Sounds to me like this is approaching full capacity. Good to see so much interest...

Might want to list the interested teams now to gauge how many we have?

Thanks everybody for your interest in this event.

Talk to your team members, get a team name and let us know. As long as we have the Team name your final driver selection can sorted on the race weekend. We are repeating the very successfull 8 hour format Shane implemented at Thunderbirds last month. We are limited to 8 teams, so teams may nominate an extra driver so all can race.

  • 3 driver team- each driver on each lane for 20 minutes (x3 = 1 hour per lane )
  • 4 drivers per team - each driver on each lane for 15 minutes. (x4 = 1 hour per lane

A big thanks to James at Hornsby for allowing us to use his venue for this event. The promotion and running of the race is the collaboration of racers from each state all wanting to race the Scaleauto formula so please contact Shane or myself for entries. If you have a problem contacting us James will foward your entry to us. Race fee's will be paid on the day. Entry fee is $50 per team member which includes handout motor.

Fantastic, we are starting to get an idea of who is running with who. This is going to be a good one.....

Shane, please edit your post and add our team (so far Tim and I) as 'Team Jokers', thanks.

May be it should be a case of teams that have paid their entry fee (at least $150) in advance is confirmed, otherwise not???

Looking forward to this.

Cheers,

Jan

This is great.. at this stage "the rough" mix of drivers coming to this event, state by state are: 6 NSW drivers. 6 Qld drivers, 4 SA drivers, 4 from Victoria, and 1 unknown. ( put that last one in just to mess with your minds). Teams are still sorting drivers but this is a great representation of talent from all the main clubs around Australia.

Hi Guys

This enduro is as expected getting a lot of interest in all those that love the Scaleauto concept of racing with slot cars with equal performance.

It would be a shame to limit the entries to 8 teams & with still a little time up our sleeves I was wondering if we could ask James if we could also hire the big track as well.

At the Slot it 4 hour enduro at Armchair the 2 tracks were used & at Hornsby would enable 16 teams to compete.

The Scaleauto's have very long legs & would be a hoot flat through the bank on the big track  & will just add another dimension to an already challenging event.

The existing entry list looks like a gathering of some of the best slot racers in Aus with multiple Champions in a lot of teams.

Personally I think we need to try and involve more of the average club racer in a big event like this as the Scaleauto's are the next big thing in slot racing, limiting entries is not sending the right message & promoting the hobby the way I think it should be.

Looking forward to comments on these subjects.

Cheers Jimmy :D
