Thanks Tony for the reply. Had a great time the last time I raced at Peters catching up with the "old gang". The Quickslot guys were a team in every sense when it came to competing against the invading hordes of drivers from NSW and SA.. Brian and I had so many racers competing on a National level we used to hire a bus to take everyone interstate. Really pleased the MCN is now running the Historic class.. Might get some of the old gang back to compete again.

Garry's right... Cars de-sloting on the exit will be stuck under the bridge. The first rule of track building is avoid putting corner exits or corners under a bridge - especially if its hard to marshall.

Unfortunately i will miss the event so won't get a chance to drive on it whatever the final product is. I quite like six laners sometimes being the innocent victim in a multu car pile up on an eight laner with a panicky marshall can be very expensive. Also for club nights etc they are just more practical. Good luck to all.

4x national champion 6x national runner up. I come second most often but my girlfriends happy.

I was thinking of visibility of that switch back corner on the other side. It's going to be hard to get that high enough to see without some serious bending.

Anyway, I guess Peter has a plan and I like the layout. 30 metres seems to be a good size for scale cars.

Cheers,

Garry J

Just spoke with Peter Van yesterday and the new track that was NC Routed is now at MB Raceway.

Yesterday was clean up and move day for them to make way for the new track. Peter has informed me the new track

should be up and running in 2 weeks time. Gives you locals plenty of track time and time to sort any gremlins out.

I'll be at the nationals and i hope plenty of others are going too.

The last 2 years have been great for the model car nationals in Australia and i hope people come and support it in Melbourne in a months time. Great classes and another new track to race on in world class facilities.

Make sure you watch this topic on the new track build.

Track looks great, love the high speed curves in the bridge areas.

Unfortunately I've just found out I have work commitments in Ballina so won't be able to make it.

Hope everything goes well.

Looks OK except the bridge should be the other way around IMHO.

It's a bit hard to tell (because I'm spatially challenged, and the track is upside down right now) but it looks like it HAS been built with the bridge as you suggest, Garry. It looks like a very nice design indeed. As you say, it has elements of many tracks that have been proven to work well. I am sure that the MR guys will have it absolutely perfect for the Nats. A good design, and likely to be well executed. What more could we ask?
