Policar

This is a bracket that Andi has built for a scratch built F1 car, over on the 1/32 F1 Scratchbuilt Forum. It will be interesting to see how this car compares to conventional geared cars.

This setup used ball races and what look like prototype Slot It Gears.

Andi has said that the bracket, which will be used in the future PoliCar F1 releases will be produced in cast brass.

Computers. They'll never catch on.

From the horse's mouth (sorry Maurizio :) )

"Andi's brass brackets use the same mechanical arrangement but Policar's will be very hard plastic"

Hiyas

price indication is "about the same as Slot.it cars" - So going to be cheaper than Fly, a little dearer than Scaley I guess.

- I am just not sure about whether it will still be an ff-050 motor, as originally planned, or an FC-130

Had a sniff around with these cars, realised they come with no magnet....cool. How do they run?

Do any other RTR 1/32 scale manufacturers offer cars out of the box without traction magnets?

They go quite well Cam - very nicely balanced - I did change the rear tyres on mine to some urethanes I made myself.

There are a couple of other cars that come without a magnet - some of the teamslot and Avant Slot cars came without magnets - one or two other cars come to mind will have a look tomorrow and confirm.

I believe that 1970's scaley's came without magnets...

lol.

Not sure if I had to remove the magnet from the other policar lotus, but it runs very nicely with urethane tyres...

We don't allow weight in our classic f1 class, but we do run BWA's, for which the policar gearing is a little (ok, a lot) short...
