What a bunch of whiners. Jeez... Just drive the car better, motherfuckers! :P

 

Edit:​ Have you ever noticed that little thrill when you post a naughty word? I'm so excited about it I need a little lie down.

 

I don't normally get too much involved in forum discussions because, as a raceway owner, I don't feel it is, for want of a better term, "politically correct". However, sometimes one just can't help oneself. So, WELL SAID Tim. I don't know if it is a South Australian thing or just slot racers in general but for the most part, all I have heard is whinge, whinge, whinge! "the track has no grip", there are too many curves", "the track has no brakes", "why did you do it this way and not that way?" etc etc etc. Give the bloody track time, it is brand new and still a virgin. Just like a new car, it has to be 'run in' and a few bugs may need to be ironed out along the way.

 

Don't get me wrong, there has also been lots of positive comments but they seem to be outweighed by the negative ones. Instead of picking the s#!t out of the track, how about a bit of back patting for the guys (Bill, Bruno and Gary) who have put in countless hours building the track, worrying if it will be up to scratch, ( I know Bill has lost many hours sleep worrying about it) making sure everything is level and the corners don't have negative cambers etc etc. The building and preparation that has gone into the the track to make sure everything is spot on for its maiden event is phenomenal and the guys out there who have built tracks know what I mean.

 

So, on a lighter note, I would like to personally thank the 3 Amigos, Bill, Bruno and Gary S. Also, Gary Johnson for supplying the design, interface and software as well as technical advice and to our very generous neighbour Steve, who did an awesome job on the lane routing and support legs etc. Also to Shane A (who's spelling hasn't improved much ;) ) for the new track inspiration and all the promotional work. I would also like to thank the interstate teams for taking time out to travel to SA, as well as the local teams to help make, what will be another great event at our raceway. So, come Saturday @ 2pm, good luck to all the teams because when the flag drops, the bullshit stops.

They obviously come from the guys who cant drive a soapy stick up a dogs backside.

 

That track is a cracker if I ever saw one.

well I have just finished a 2 hour solid stint. it was 6 lanes full for most of the night and a lot of people, including myself talking a walk around the track to pick up deslotted cars.

 

I swear that did not hit my team boss car hard once all night......but I did hand to him his car back completely by 8.00pm

 

at 6.30, I handed him a headlight, at

7.15 a rear splitter, and I snuck in a mirror at 7.55......then the rest of the car by 8.00.

How were your lap times john ?

I was next to john most of the night high 6.9s to 7.1s on most lanes. I know he broke the 7 barrier because he started dancing.

The bullshit has stopped the grip is good and bloody Shane is still there going quicker and quicker. There is a Atkinson size dent on the floor at each driver station. Good news for you Noel, best of luck Saturday

One of the best post's I've read in a long time...

 

Also, I honestly can't understand peoples desire for 'goop'...

To me, some of the most fun tracks I've driven on have been lower grip than the 'normal'...

 

I think people need to remember 2 things...

1. The track is the same for everyone...

2. We are supposed to be having fun...

just trying to understand more about these scaleauto cars.

 

they all the same chassis?

they all the same weight?

they all got same motors?

they all got same tyres?

 

last night i was speaking to Dennis T (slot car royalty) and he ws going to see which car for his team was going to be used. His or Sammi's car.

 

I had my team boss car and it seemed to be on par with Sammi car, but Dennis T car was 3-4 tenths quicker. sammi and dennis were swapping each other cars, and i was level against sammi with his car, but when he drove dennis T car, i got left behind.

 

how can the same basic car be so different in laptimes and speed? are the newer ones lighter? is it gear ratios?

 

i havnt seen our actual teams race car yet. will see that friday night

My car is a practice car John and is way off the pace. I've left the building to the guys who aren't studying and working full time ;)

 

my car was a practice car as well...(whats left of it) Kev is doing a shakedown of racecar today.

I had a short run last night, the track is fantastic well done to Chris O, Gary (Sheppo), Bruno and Bill J.

 

All of our team has now practiced it is now down to final car prep and strategy. Our strategy is going to be drive to a comfortable pace, keep out of trouble and build a strong car.

.....well, in addition to what Garry said.....

 

The beauty of this class is that we all have the same crap - at least you don't have to be worried that the car next to you on the grid is using one of a number of alternative chassis bits like in other classes. The end result is purely down to how it has been put together and then how the driver manages the ability of the car.

 

......skill and ability....bottom line.

 

BTW Ray - good policy mate, good policy for enduro racing....just grind out the laps and stay in the slot.

All I can say after racing the enduro,we would now have the best scale track in Australia.

 

Awesome racing over the 8hrs,awesome complex.

 

Race report results will come with everything and more.
