Put up my latest test image...

It's getting there, but it's still not right.

I think I need to remove every second "Mt. Rustmore", change "Mt." to "Mount", dial back the blue a little, and whiten the concrete.

Other than that, it looks great.

It might work with a space between each letter and five spaces between the MT and RUSTMORE and leave out the dot.

So

M t_____R u s t m o r e

M o u n t_____R u s t m o r e

5 spaces didn't come out when posting so put in underscore instead

could also work

Have you thought about scoring the jerseys at the bend and the top and pack the bottom slightly say 5-10mm to give a bit of a 3D effect.

Thanks again for your input Grant...

I had already spaced out the letters, but I've added a little more spacing.

Currently, the plan is to have 9x blue only Jersey wall sections between the 3x sections with "Mount Rustmore" on them.

Also, I think that the best way to get a 3d effect would be to actually print the images twice.

1st image goes in the background as per photo above, and the next image has the Jersey wall cut off and glued to 3mm foam board, or very thick card.

I may still go down that path, and the best part is that it can be retro fitted after the initial wall is installed.

Anyway, here's the wall after the current changes...

  • 1 year later...

Hmm, I really need to do some more work on my track...

Also, for future reference, my double hairpin is a copy of Graham Lane's "Lane Swerve Chicane" (Thanks Ember)...

Yeah, you better watch it, I might catch up :D........... some chance .

Haven't heard much from Graham lately on any forum, his track has got to be the best I have ever seen, especially his hand built block viaduct, I would hate to guess the amount of hours that went into that.

Some of his figures are pretty cool and rare to find too.

Cheers Grant
