mtpanorama
I think MJK's are one of the best all round tyre which work on plastic, ferrodor and gloss wood tracks with a nice balance between grip and slip. They are very easy to true and if your rims are round you can run them straight away without truing. Are you sure you are not mixing up silicone's with MJK's, silicone's are hard to true apparently. 3 Quote Corporate greed is driving inflation. Cash doesn't crash, use it or lose it. big den
As someone who is involved with clubs that race a variety of 'vintage' categories using cars that the manufacturers no longer support in terms of spare parts (tyres included) I have found MJK tyres to have good track-holding performance. My Ninco vintage sports cars, Pioneer Trans-Ams, Carrera NASCARs and Revell-Monogram 'Stockers' are examples of cars that have shown noticeable improvement when MJK tyres have been used to replace the originals. I haven't had any trouble with trueing MJKs with fond memories of the piles of white 'debris' that accumulate during the process. The only drawbacks I have found can be in the 'supply chain' where I have had to purchase small quantities from multiple sources, which can be rather expensive in regard to freight/postage costs. It is not uncommon to find that a retailer or wholesaler might list the part numbers that I am seeking, only to add those three words that cause despair to customers everywhere : "OUT OF STOCK" Den

Johnno
Having just replaced tyres with MJK's I have to say I am not at all impressed with the grip provided, worse than the original tyres that came with the car, a Slot.it Maserati. The reason for replacing the tyres was to get wider wheels and tyres over the original skinny wheels and tyres. I've decided to sell all my MJK tyres that are new and unopened. I don't have any MJK, nor have I used the technique much on my Paul Gage tires. That said, anything that is good, can be bad if overdone. ;-)

Shaynus
Air, time and heat in my case. I kept my cars in the shed, but changing some clear panels in the roof let more light (and more heat) in. I had a series of MJK tyres turn red and disintegrate on me. No new ones, and the worst were probably also the oldest or 2nd hand when I brought the car anyway. The tyres are like me - too much sun and I turn red and disintegrate too!
