Worldwide shipping.....what's happening, not much?

I can go to my local postal agency and post a package to most countries and earlier this month have done so but I havent had any updates on parcels I sent being delivered.

Also I have made a few purchases from other countries UK, China, Belgium and Spain but nothing has been delivered to my door.

I realise the virus lockdowns and limited international flying is the main reason for this.

I would be interested to know of anyone else's recent experiences.

TIA

Hi John,

You are not alone in this situation, I have had a parcel from Slot Car Corner in transit since March stopped at the airport trying to contact USPS is beyond a joke I have even gone as far as lodging an official complaint against the USPS.

Got to the point that Steve cancelled the order himself and marked parcel as stolen/lost and refunded my money though I still want the items, if the parcel does turn up I will contact Steve to arrange payment. Top business and bloke. Will return to shop in future for sure.

Regardless this is bloody ridiculous and is not on, the couriers and USPS have both taken my money and not provided the service they charged for. What makes this even worse is the USPS, couriers and Australia Post have enacted a little known clause which makes them not liable for lost parcels nor liable for refund.

I'd contact the shop you bought items from and request an immediate full refund.

Peter from MrTrax also had his order disappear on him, then when he reordered FedEx put charges up 400% and then sent his order by sea.

Seems in Australia we are getting screwed every bloody corner, I for one am sick of this treatment.

My last order from the UK took 6 weeks to arrive and that was ordered 12/3 before a lot of the lockdown stuff started. I decided to hold of on any orders for a bit to allow things to settle down. Ordered some cars from the US 3 weeks ago hope that it arrives soon.

cheers

David

Hi all.

I ordered from Armchair Racer AU and Slot Car Centre USA over lock down. Both warned me about shipping delays but SCC in particular forecast serious delays and offered cancellation. I decided to proceed with both and already have Armchair order. SCC seemed to make good progress initially but no progress for a while. Cannot fault SCC.

I have had almost normal shipping times from Sydney, Brisbane/Gold Coast and the UK, and slightly slower then normal, but reasonable in Covid19 times, from the US (California).

I have a package from Melbourne that was sent 21/4 that has just made it onto a plane, but not yet to me.

I have items from Spain and Germany held up as they claim to have no transport capacity.

China seems to show international departure in 1 or 2 days, so normal at that end, not so quick once it hits NZ, but that also is normal in my experience.

I have a query in about an ebay purchase which was delayed when HK post wasn't accepting mail, but sound like it is now lost in the store, as despite notification of dispatch, it still shows it as being "prepared for shipping".

Ooops looks like I have been spending too much time OnLine.

There is very little issues in Australia for shipping, it is international parcels and shipping which is the issue. Not to even hear back from the USPS after contacting them is bullshit in itself.

I have ordered items locally from Australian businesses without issues, including Armchair Racer and MrTrax/MrSlotcar, all items arrived within very fast time frames.

Now to get international couriers to pull their fingers out and do the job they have been paid for. Personally, I would be contacting them and requesting procedures to make a claim for refunds of shipping charges as they have not provided the service that they have charged for, most countries would see that as fraud.

It seems the biggest problem with international shipping is that only about 1% of the worlds planes are currently flying and unless they can get stuff on a plane that's heading in the right direction it's going to take some time. As strange as it seems we're in a different world to what it was 4-5 months ago. It almost seems quite 60's-ish at the moment. The weird thing is I bought some stuff from SRC after the lockdown started and it took 11 days while an item I bought on Trademe from Woodville before the lockdown started took 7 weeks and only arrived a couple of days ago.

have had order from Hungary cancelled once and tried book again this week with no joy, as their post will not accept goods for NZ

I've had 3 parcels ordered from the US, 31/03, 24/04 & 03/05. None are slot car related but aside from receiving notice that they are at the

export hub there's been nothing since. I suspect that they are actually all in Auckland while NZ Post sit on their hands and plead ignorance :-(

ymmv.

Ordered from Cincyslots in Ohio, which was sent 20/03. Normally takes about two weeks, still waiting. I understand the reason so I won't be demanding a refund from anybody however the lack of information from usps/auspost is frustrating. If my parcel is sitting awaiting suitable transport, on a boat, flown by two pigeons? I'd just like to know.

I spent a good 90 minutes on the phone chasing up Auspost in the week to ask about the status of a parcel which was last scanned at the Sydney mail centre 6 weeks ago.

Sadly they are giving items 90 days before considering it's gone missing, they won't even bother doing anything unless the item is scanned at the destination country and they already know that many of the destination postal services aren't scanning parcels so it's a bit of pot luck at the moment.

In good news, I had a parcel shipped from Sydney on Thursday and it arrived on Friday so I suspect things are definitely improving within NSW.

There is very little, if any issues with parcels posted within Australia going to Australian address, it is international mail and parcels  coming to Australia that the issue lays.

My parcel is sitting at the airport (supposedly from the last tracking update on March)

There was a TV news article on exactly that yesterday or Friday. They had been sitting on everything that came in during level 4, and are just clearing 150,000 stored parcels this coming week.
