Tony.A
Last night during Happy Hour,we held another fun BRM Group 2 Sedans race. The small 4 lane track is a perfect track for these cars as it provides some close side by side racing for lap after lap until someone crashes.Usually at the donut is where most crashes happen and as there is no marshals we have an agreement that whoever is on the the two gutter lanes do the marshalling at either end of the track. It’s all about having fun and doing something a bit different other than just testing all night on the 8 lanes.First was Tony 123 Laps,Second was Leah with 109, Third was Ben with 104 and Fourth was Fred with 84. This Sunday sees the 2nd round for NSR Fiat Abarth and NSR GT3 at 11:00am.All welcome and loan cars available for those that may not have a car. Tony.A
Last night saw the continuation of our BRM Group 2 sedan races during Happy Hour and with the fuse problem from last week we were able to have 2 races towards the end of the night. The first race started off evenly with only a couple of laps separating the field after the first heat. After that heat it started to spread out a bit but there was some great action where for lap after lap there would be three cars side by side for nearly the duration of the bracket. With no magnets in these cars they provide some great old school tail out door to door racing.First was Tony with 124 Laps, second was Ben with 115,third was Leah with 109 and fourth was Fred with 98.The second race was much the same as the first although midway through the race there was the spectacular scene with all four cars side by side for half the bracket and with everyone getting accustomed to the track there is only half a second difference in lap times across the field.First was Tony with 121 Laps, second by a foot was Leah with 115 and Ben also on 115 with Fred fourth on 104. Next race at Outlaw Slot Cars is Sunday 2nd June with Carrera GT3,starting at 11:
Tony.A
Today saw the next round of Carrera GT3 with a healthy entry of 12 racers.Qualifying threw up a surprise with Leah top qualifying with a new qualifying record of 8.4513 seconds.Ben was second with 8.5721,third was Tony with 8.6575,fourth was Paul with 8.7060,fifth was Tommy with 8.8047.Hayley was sixth with 8.9034,seventh was Dave with 8.9643,eighth was newcomer Craig with 9.0000,ninth was another newcomer in Noel with 9.3250,tenth was Luke with 9.3627,eleventh was Fred with 10.0780 and newcomer May with 10.3953.With everyone having four byes the race was going to be interesting with all eyes on the predicted lap total column to keep track of your progress with the race result up in the air until the last heat. The race got off to a good start until the start of the second heat with motor problem causing Tony to miss half a bracket and dropping 11 laps. The middle stages of the race became a bit of a crash fest with some of the earlier front runners getting caught up in the carnage and setting the stage for an exciting finish.Unfortunately for May in her first race she got caught up in a major crash and ended up with a motor failure.Tommy was the leader heading into the last bracket but having completed his 8 lanes had to watch and see if he had done enough but unfortunately it wasn’t enough as three drivers swept passed him in the last bracket.Leah won with a personal best of 148 laps,Ben was second with 144.Tony stunned everyone by storming back to third with 143,Tommy fourth with 141.Fifth was Craig with 140,sixth was Hayley with 139,Luke was seventh with 138,Dave was eighth with 136,ninth was Paul with 134,tenth was Noel with 130,eleventh was Fred with 118 and May with 78. Tony.A
Last night during Happy Hour we had another great BRM Group 2 race on the 4 lane track. There was some great racing with plenty of times where all 4 cars lapped the track in a group and there is not much difference in straight line speed across the 4 cars so it comes down to corner speed and not crashing. The difference in lap times across the four car cars has come down to just over 2/10 tenths of a second.Even the difference in bracket laps has come down to 4 laps across the four cars.Tony was first with 121 laps,Ben was second with 113,Leah was third with 110 despite feeling crook and Fred getting better each week with 106.
