charlesx
Hi Oldman, Shaynus and all. Wow that was a sudden increase in entrants. Only few days ago it looked like about 15 so great to have the extra numbers as long as you are sure you can handle. Proxies are a lot of work. I did think however that your maximum was 24 but what's one extra cara. Look forward to photos of the entire field. Only about 9 days to go before first race. Shaynus
The field is filling up nicely
charlesx
Thanks for latest photo Oldman/Shaynus. Still 3 cars to come by the look of it. Now 8 days until start. Looks like our extra cars are not required now but hopefully the more the better within reason. If you wish to drop one of mine out to reduce to max. 24 that is fine with me but please keep VL Holden as long as you Shaynus are still running yours. Shaynus
I think this is the final line up for the proxy. We had a busy night of racing on Friday at Peel Raceway with lots of drivers, so it was a bit of a rushed shot
charlesx
Wow Oldman and Shaynus. That looks like 27. What a field. You are all certainly going to be very, very busy. Only 3 days to go untill the flag falls. Best of luck to all. Thanks for the up-dated photos of field. Regards Charles Le Breton (charlesx) Taranaki Slot Car Racing Club, New Plymouth, New Zealand. charlesx
Hi Oldman, Shaynus and the rest of your Mandurah/Peel team. All the best for the start of the Bathurst 1000 Proxy. Looking forward to your usual reports and photos etc. Great to see so many new competitors. Good luck to all from the Taranaki Slot Car Racing Club. charlesx
Hi Oldman, Shaynus and all. Hope you got proxy away OK. Looking forward to description and photos of cars and the first races. Kiwis have shown a lot of interest in this proxy and photos so perhaps a bigger NZ contingent in future. I remember a world-wide proxy years ago. About 60 entries. Most are no more than 20-30 cars. Still a lot of work. Regards Charles Le Breton (charlesx).

charlesx
Thanks Oldman. Good to hear. Will look forward to results and photos. See you have a new man on board. Pity to see one car drop out so early. Regards Charles Le Breton (charlesx) Edited August 31 by charlesx

Brumos RSR
Definitely needed more weight on the nose, I missed on this one. Thank you for running the round and I hope you guys are having a blast down under.
charlesx
Thanks for the results. Well done Shanus for your close win for the first round. Another win for the Camaro but early days yet. Well done Oldman too for your great 2nd as the defending champ and Ron for third (a new entrant perhaps). See my old Network 9 Camaro time best lap slightly faster but finished well down the field so still probably not the easiest drive. Interesting though that my new 1979 Camaro bet No,9 - easier to drive? Shanus your second car (83)- what a flyer. Good to see this proxy off to such a great start. Shaynus
Results from Round 2: With a bit of luck do a progressive tally over the weekend, I'm a bit snowed under just at the moment. Next week we hope to be able to start giving a bit of feed back on the cars too...hopefully... Round 2 top 5 cars: There is quite a range of cars in this year's proxy. Quite a few nice, fast cars in the field this year who will be battling it out for positions at the top. Also a few cars that are quite a challenge to drive and get competitive lap time from... but they have entered, and we wouldn't be here without them, so good stuff and well done on getting cars ready and entered everyone! charlesx
Thanks Shaynus. Good to see a bit of a mixture of car types near the front. Clearly you guys have been busy improving your cars so that is great. Provides a good comparison to 2022 performance as apart from new tyres mine is virtually untouched although I did try to smooth out the drive. Not much better apparently. Oldman's Falcon however has lost little of its edge. Your VL Holden went really well too. Certainly left mine in the dust. Just a small suggestion but another field in your spreadsheet would be good if/when you have time. The car make would enable a better comparison of the various cars performance. Look forward to description and photos of cars too plus race reports. Regards Charles Le Breton (charlesx)
Brumos RSR
Can someone re educate me on the points system…..to many proxies to remember all the points systems. Thank you I’d search but I cannot scroll this forum for whatever reason.
charlesx
Hi BrumosRSR. If there no recent post on AUSLOT you need to type Bathurst 1000 Proxy into search box and then select the latest post. Hope this works. Take it your car was coming out at front. Better luck next year Regards Charles Le Breton (charlesx)
RoadRunners
My car seems to have gone backwards since last year, perhaps the change from urethane to rubber tyres was not such a good idea for me.
charlesx
Mine too (Network9 Camaro) in terms of results but it seems to have lost none of its speed. Should have changed motor to NSR Shark 25000rpm perhaps but elected to put that in new Ron Dickson 1979 Camaro. Latter appears to be going well but I did limit performance perhaps by retaining original Scalextric wheels and spur gear. Note VL Holden has a good turn of speed but Shaynus appears to have done a better job or is it a better motor selection? Still many rounds to go though so wait and see. charlesx
Hi Shaynus, Oldman and all. Great to see Race 2 results as I seem to have missed them first time. Congrats to you again Shaynus with Oldman keeping you very, very honest. See your Ford Falcon also racing very consistently with a great 4th. I appear to have improved my position a bit with my Network 9 Camaro finally getting its nose in front of the Ron Dickson Camaro. Bigger improver though appears to be my No.10 VL Holden which improved to 13th from 21st just behind the little Shaynus No. 3 Porsche which also had a much improved performance. Neither a flash in the pan I hope. My overall position also improved with my 3 cars overall but Team Shaynus still rules the roost. Will be interesting to see the overall results when they come out. You may have noticed that Shaynus and self are having our little private battle so apologies for this. Best of luck to you all. I see that 3rd position is still very much in doubt. Congrats to the drivers too for a great job so far. Regards Charles Le Breton (charlesx)
Ron
Peel Slot Car Club - 2024 Bathurst Proxy Racing. Photos from the last couple of weeks. There are some consistent cars in the top four, including those from Shanus x2, Charlex x2, Paddy x2, together with single appearances from Alek and Frog. Congratulations to all car entrants, thank you to regular drivers from the Peel Slot Car Club. Some thrilling battles and close racing.
