charlesx
Hi Peter. Have mine but still in box. Not sure when/whether I will race it. TS Lola GT is only one I have raced out of the 5 or so TS I have. Lovely looking car but Bathurst 1000 Proxy is all I can think about at present. Regards Charles Le Breton (charlesx).
Peter Gunn
Still waiting for mine Charles been out in the USA for around a month now and been looking at the comments and vid on the tube , ordered 2 one i will keep standard the other i will do my usual breathing on it , does look a nice finish on the body
Peter Gunn
Have my pair of Ferraris and few things i will mention the body fir is not that great had to file the inside edges to get the chassis on both to sit square. I have left number 23 basically standard except for some added weight midships and up front these cars are pretty light and with the sstandard motor in are fast but light at the front. Now number 111 is one of my modifications this one is not standard i have fitted the stiff pod, ballraced the rear axle, fitted titanium axles, Staff wheels , NSR Ultra rears, the motor is Pirana 25k allrace motor gears are slot it 11x32 and the chassis is weighted midships and front. The cars are light years apartr on the track but i expect that with my mods, 111 is rapid and corners like a dream and that motor gives it some poke so will run with my modified Thunderslot cars. The 23 car as a standard car is a very nice drive and handles well but both need that weight added.
gref
very disappointed with mine, both rear wheel grub screws stripped the thread on both sides, very soft alloy, so car is unusable now. (No I didn't use a rattle gun to tighten, just finger tight) Quote *fancy signature regards Shane Fuel racing in first track build --> https://youtu.be/nG1EyFkbJSs My second track build --> raceday - https://youtu.be/8WXYQ528iKM
charlesx
Just re-bore and tap for NSR grub screw or you could drill new hole and tap. Have only done a few laps demo laps with mine and put back in box but did show my fellow slotties. I have never had any trouble with TS wheels/grub screws in nearly 10 now (since my first Lola GT) so just bad luck. Lola GT has done a lot of racing in that time. You could always ask for replacement. Regards Charles Le Breton (charlesx)
gref
I have a TS Lola, no issues there, but the Ferrari the opposite. Based on what I've seen on slotforum, I'm not the only one. I contacted place of purchase who said the emailed the distributor so see what comes of that. charlesx
Hi Gref. Good luck with that. May have to go back to manufacturer (Marizio) who should be well aware of problem by now. He is a nice guy so here is hoping. Regards C Le B
big dennis
A couple of points regarding your earlier posts, 'charlesx'. I'm fairly sure that Thunderslot and NSR both use the M2.5 grub screws as standard fasteners in their wheels so a 're-bore' may not be an option for 'gref'. And "May have to go back to manufacturer (Marizio) who should be well aware of problem by now. He is a nice guy so here is hoping." There's little doubt that 'Marizio' (Maurizio Ferrari) is a nice guy but he's not the Thunderslot guy. The head of Thunderslot is Giovanni Montiglio. charlesx
Hi Big Dennis. Please excuse my memory. I remember him helping me set up my Lola GT in 2015 so it was a while ago. Thanks for putting me right. Have yet to check my TS Ferrari as I only a few laps before putting back in box. Have never had any trouble with my other TS cars (about 5) but only one has been raced hard. gref
I got a reply from Thunderslot: We have found a small lot of screws DIN913 faulted. They, anyway, mount on rims and in the mounting dept were used. Unfortunally, they have ruined the thread of the rims. So, it’s correct to ask a substitution. I'd check your cars for those that aren't racing them Quote *fancy signature regards Shane Fuel racing in first track build --> https://youtu.be/nG1EyFkbJSs My second track build --> raceday - https://youtu.be/8WXYQ528iKM
