knoath
Construction has begun on the new Woodbrook Valley road course. A 3 lane, MDF routed, scenic country road loop, I hope to test myself a bit more with the scenery. I picked up a shelf unit, cut it down to fit under the track to store some cars. Tables are 770mm from floor to top. The tables are sitting on top of the track, drawn out on the MDF sheets, which measure 3600x1800x9mm and 2400x1800x9mm, I drew the track out first so I could get the table sizes right. Hope to keep the updates coming.... Cheers, Dick Quote Cheers, Dick SCMR build thread Woodbrook Valley build thread "A Man's home is his castle, but his garage is his sanctuary!" sax0607
looking good Dick , did you change the location of the track in the room ? what day next week do we start turning laps ? I hope there was no un-needed extra strain put on your "tender" parts sax
KarKraft
Talk about forethought, he's already thinking about storage... Looking forward to the progress shots. You know the drill, plenty of 'em. Quote Fairmont Park
knoath
did you change the location of the track in the room ? Yes, the track has been moved to the other side of the room... it just works better for room to move once there's a few in there. what day next week do we start turning laps ? Ahhh... Thursday's good for me! I hope there was no un-needed extra strain put on your "tender" parts Oh yes... my tenders. Jack helped me with lifting and carrying the tables, once built, in to the room! And the Missus helped unload the MDF sheets from the tralier... as stoked as I was to get the sheets, I wasn't gunna even try to do that on my own! The missus saw the pic of the shelves and said it looked like an open fridge! (Hmm, open fridge raceway... , that'd get the boys 'round! ) Edit: just saw KK's post. Thanks KarKraft, when I saw the shelves I couldn't resist... it's like someone built them specifically for slots! The shelf heights and depths are perfect. They just need another coat of paint and they should be done. I need to settle on a spot for the power supply etc before I get too carried away too. Haven't decided on a style for the driver's stations either... so I'm looking at what others have done. knoath
Tables are done, the room is filling up rather quickly with non slot related items, still all about fun though. Picked this up on the weekend! The boys reckon it's a winner! The air hockey table see a fair bit of action too. I've got a ton of stuff to store under mine, shelves and cabinets might be the way to go. I'm curious to see more. Keep it coming. pitlane3
Hi Dick, just got back into the land of the living, after 4 days at Albert Park. Still no track map, and what happened to Jack's rally track? Quote "If one does not fail at times, then one has not challenged himself." knoath
turboman93, don't grab a razor mate, $200 was the price. Christian, hope you had a great weekend!!!! I will put up a rough track plan tonight. Jack's rally track had stalled. He wants it under his (loft) bed and it will need some reworking to get it to fit, or we can start again... it's just too wide to fit atm. and there's a million other things on too! knoath
Managed some time tonight to draw out the lanes... on the large sheet anyway. Will do the smaller sheet tomorrow, then if I can borrow a router I may have the slots done this weekend!
