Posting this for someone from work: I have just bought a new scale electric track for the wife and she loves it but, buying cars and fitting the digital chip to the cars at $30 a car then racing for an hour or so burns out the chips, why? We have 7 cars and I have had to replace all. Is this normal or are we doing something wrong? What could it be?

Nice pics gazza, and good turn out. Still shocks me everytime I see a pic of Joe's garage, I'm amazed to see the PC monitor there

Michael Maybe the shop breakins on RC gear has turned them off. Not sure if they have had any issues themselves. True Vince. Didn't know that had been happening. I remember seeing it advertised for sale almost two years ago (I've been in Wagga almost 18 months now). But if the upstairs is the same footprint as below, it ain't that big... Fair enough, I suppose if you want a decent price just get it from a slot car shop, the toy and other hobby shops always priced them up. This shop also had SCX cars for 65+. Either way, kind of bites. I lived in the Penrith area all my life with nothing there, get into slots with the SWSRG guys, build my track, then sell it and leave for Wagga and now TWO centres look to be opening up...
-
Did a net search, and one of the centres is going to be an extension of Barclay's RC and Hobbies currently on High St. Don't see how they can fit a track and drag strip in there, so they must be moving. Hopefully their slot related products have dropped in price as whenever I popped my head in there ( I got all my Woodland Scenic stuff from him), what they did have (one small cabinet worth) were over the top in prices, eg all Scaley V8s were $65+. He didn't seem to interested in slots back then, so interested to know what changed his view. My wife used to ask me if a business like that could be sustained in the area, so lets see how the next 12 months go with two of them in close proximity.

Nah Ben, still in Kooringal so up nice and high. Glad central, CBD and all other areas given the all clear. This pic is from our front verandah of low lying properties between Kooringal Rd and Baker's Lane, and behind the exhibition centre/sport fields. Michael ps. our rental is going up for sale so looks like we're on the move again, 4 moths after getting into here. Going back to Forest Hill. I need to meet up with you guys, will do so after we move.

John, I was going to post something along these lines yesterday when the 'unique identifier' was introduced. As the UN is anything at anytime, how do you know that no one will or can just go in and enter tips under someone else's name. I didn't post it because I though no one would do it, but its happened already. Just putting it out there. Now would Craig have to go and resubmit his tips? Don't mean to over complicate things or create work, as this method is far easier than a full blown website as we know what could become of that. I stopped tipping last year after it changed. -
They do look the goods. You can go to that extreme with wraps. I'd hate to be the one to go to your airbrush artist with it!

Ahhhh yeah blame the kids eh, that old chestnut Just jokes I have a 5yo as well! Star Wars was for me!! I'm 45% through Star Wars, as I go through in story, then he goes through in free play. But its great because we do it together too. He's starting to get the hang of driving games, and not just SEGA All Star Racing (similar to Mario Kart) he's a gun on that, but we are doing multiplay on F1 2011, and Forza 4. As for the original thread topic... I've done the first season for Force India. 19 wins from 19 starts. It was a custom difficulty level, ABS is med, as is TC. No brake assist or drive line. But for the second season, now with McLaren, I've upped the driver AI to Int.

I'm in the same boat. I don't have a track at the moment so I'm doing absolutely no running, but even if I did still have it, I probably wouldn't be using it much. We moved down to Wagga last September, and there are a few groups down here, but to be honest, I just can't be stuffed. A couple of weeks ago I was keen to go, but when it came to it, I just could not be bothered.

My 5yo son is hooked on LEGO Star Wars, so I got Batman for $6, as there was no cover! Will get WRC2 next pay I think.
-
Had 50 bucks in my toy kitty last night, and hovered over WRC2. Ended up going with Ace Combat Assault Horizon. Almost, almost, got DiRT 3 from the used stand at EB but passed on that for LEGO Batman too!
-
I'm currently also going through F1 2011, though on X360. Got one of the wireless speed wheels for xmas. Great little unit in that you can just sit back on the couch and don't need a full pedal setup. Only vice is it lacks the two buttons that would normally be used for manual gear changes. Auto only with this puppy.
-
The DiRT series started out as the Colin McRae series, which culminated at CM DiRT (CM5). DiRT 2 then 3 were tied to Ken Block. Have not been a fan of the DiRT series as I felt it veered to far from the WRC and went too 'arcadey' for my liking. Granted, Sony (SCEE) had the official WRC rights so on the PS had the official title, but that stopped around '05/'06. The rights were picked up two years ago by the mob doing the new WRC game, though it falls well short of DiRT or the SCEE series. Hoping Codemasters pick up the license as no doubt it should be back up since the promotion deal for the WRC has fallen over. CM could then rebrand DiRT to fully licensed WRC status, with all licensed cars and drivers as the first three CM games. Block will still get a cut as he features in the WRC, but drop all the closed circuit/xgames crap. Only prob though, with the poor state of the WRC this year with only 4 works drivers, it would be best to hold till next year when VW join, though even then it would be 6, maybe 8 factory cars depending on how long MINI stay around now they have done a quickie divorce from Prodrive. (Prodrive are now just a customer team, though will still build all cars for any potential entrant, just no longer 'factory' status. Found it amusing that they were miles ahead of the team that has been given this new backing, MIN Team Portugal!) That all said though, WRC on X360 is only 20-25, so I might get it anyway!

Looks like you all had a great run.
-
I've always used this one.

No slot related stuff for the first time in 5 years. Got two items for the XBOX360: Forza Motorsports 4 with the wireless speed wheel and F1 2011.
