Hi quick question on motors for this event after talking to Lenny broke and Jazzbell last night it is not clear if you are allowed to remove the interference resistor (I think that what it is called) from the motor. This is standard practice at our club please advise of the intent rule on this one.

Hi guy's,

Just to touch base on the rule changes for the Scale Nationls the addition of rules will be.

added and finalized by the end of this weekend.

I've spoken to Gary Johnson who is the main man for the ASCRA WEB SITE where the rules are posted and he has informed me changes will be done over this weekend.

A fresh link to the rules will be posted.

Thanks Shane

I thought I would also say what great job you are doing to promote this event without which a lot of us would have forgotten it was on.

Cheers Alan

Alan i dont want people to forget this meeting is being held as this should be Australia's major meeting for scale modle racing every year.

If everyone is positive towards this event things can only go forward in the hobby for these kind of events.

I'm looking forward to the trip to Sydney as everyone else is from Adelaide.Cant wait to race some new classes ,meet the people i speak to from time to time and drive on another different slot track.

Also like to mention some clubs that race on Friday nights look like changing there race night so people can attend Hornsby and still not miss there local club night. Thanks Guy's :)

Hope everyone likes the stickers when you get your hands on them.

The Scalextric 1/32 GT Rules specify that "The original windows must remain clear and in place at all times." The car shown appears to be a super resistant R8. Do Super Resistant cars qualify as GT's.

ps. The Model Car Nationals forum thread at ASCRA do not seem to have had a comment since February. Have people lost interest or has the thread been transferred to here? Please correct me if I am wrong. I am looking forward to this event.

NO SUPER RESISTANT CARS ALLOWED. IT'S JUST A POSTER.

Here in Adelaide where very lucky to have Kevin Wilson from Wilson graphics who designs stuff for our club and people involved all the time. Kevin does work for the v8 teams, magazines and plenty more.

Something like this he done for love. To get stuff like this done costs thousands.

No one has lost interest. All the talk has been on Auslot. Hornsby have had the rules posted up on the ASCRA site only then the link has gone to Auslot. So yes you are wrong.

Be positive please. In the next few day's the rules will be finalized. :D

I think i've done pritty well to keep everyone in the know. With over 7000 look in's on the topic No interest is lost. Talking to people where looking at a good 40 plus drivers which is great. :)

I am not talking about the poster. I am talking about the image in the official regulations/rules. Read my post again. Please read my post again.

ps. Where does it say Super Resistant cars are not allowed, I missed that!

What is the problem, read my post again, again. I asked if people have lost interest or has AUSLOT taken over the thread. I did not make a statement just asked a question. Where does it say at ASCRA that the thread has been transferred to AUSLOT. Sorry the batteries in my crystal ball have run out.

The last reference to the location of the rules/regulations that I can find was 17 February 2011 - 01:38 AM (Thanks Stoo). Long time between drinks Shane.

The sponsorship and organisers have done a great job.

The 2011 artwork looks really cool.

I hope this enthusiasm flows over to each consecutive MCN each year.

Thanks for the rule update from Hornsby and Garry Johnson for doing the changes.

Thanks John/Yngwie for the link for the rules as well.

Take note these are final and No more changes will take place with the rules. The rules are straight forward and there has been plenty of time for talk on changes. What people have talked about has all been gathered and been high lighted for whats new.

Not long now to the event so start building and will see you there. :)

Are Super Resitants allowed in the Scaley GT class as per the photo published in the official/final regulations? This is not being a smartass this is wanting an answer. No where does it say they are not allowed.

Hi guys,..

I Too, would like to thank all those who have been involved/helped in the Promotion of this event.

The Stickers and artwork look Great !!

Sounds like there Will be a rather Healthy number of attendees!,.. :D

As to the questions re the Super resistant Cars in the Scalextric GT Class, the inclusion of the car as used on the page of the rules, was purely an Image that I believe GaryJ chose to simply represent the class per/se, to give the rules a bit of added 'Colour' etc and was NOT intended to be a 'Reference',...

Whilst the Rules do Not perhaps Refer Specifically to those Cars,..their 'Exclusion' can I believe be Gleaned from the Rules, as stated under the section dealing with the Body it States;

5. The original windows must remain clear and in place at all times.

Arguably a somewhat difficult task to acheive, if the Windows are/were Never clear and are in fact Black !!!

Regarding the Resistors/Capacitors etc. etc, attached across the Motor or Guide, (as fitted to some cars when purchased New), they CAN be removed!

And finally, regarding the thread on the ASCRA Forum, I 'Posted' the info there Mainly for people that frequent that forum that may Not also frequent This forum and May have been interested in possibly attending.

I have Now posted a Reference in the ASCRA thread, to This Thread as the Main Source of info regarding the Event!

Cheers

I don't think it says they are not allowed but it does say that the original interior must stay in place. Do they have an interior? If they don't then that would count them out Also says the original clear glass must be maintained and i think the supers have blacked out windows? In that case it would count them out. I am no expert on super resistants as i don't have any but i don't think they were the intent of this class but i could be wrong. I would just race a regular scaley car as that would seem the logical thing to do but someone else will think different.

I asked simple questions and got agro in return. The questions finally got answered by two members. Again thanks FCC and Stoo23. Be interesting to see if anyone turns up with a black window GT.

Still looking forward to the Nationals especially to see how Ratracer goes with my 1/32 Plafit. It deserves a better driver than me.

Just went back and looked again at the posters that you accused me of slagging off at, they are brilliant. Neither of them show black window cars!!

Hi Davnic,...No,..it's Not a 'Typo',...

The McLaren is Obviously Not the F1 car,..but the F1 GTR and the Chappy, is the CanAm car,..which whilst arguably Not being a GT car,..Has been allowed to run in HSC's regular club Scalextric races, so was included here.

This class was mainly for 'the Locals', as in 1/32, Scalextric is the Only class/cars run regularly at HSC.

Hi Stu

Please excuse me but can I correct you on something

The Mclaren referred to in the rules is the McLAREN MP4-12C, not the F1 GTR. Scalex don't do that model.

The Chappy in the scalex range is the 2F which was a sports prototype and not a CanAm.

maybe you have confused them with the Slot It cars which are the F1 and Can am cars.

Cheers Alan

Errr,...DOH !!!

Yep,..silly me,..you are ofcourse absolutely correct!

My apologies for whoever it was that made the (Incorrect) McLaren F1 inclusion in the 'updated' rules.

It is as you say the McLaren MP4/12c.

I am somewhat annoyed with myself regarding the Chappy, as I really should and DO Know better,..I even have the definitive Chappy Book as well,..I blame the conversation I was having with Shane the other day, for derailing my mind !!,..rofl,..Heck,..I even own one of the 2F's !!

Oh well,..I'll claim advancing age as my excuse !!,.. :D :D :D

Thanks for the correction Lenny :);)
