Ratracer
Hi quick question on motors for this event after talking to Lenny broke and Jazzbell last night it is not clear if you are allowed to remove the interference resistor (I think that what it is called) from the motor. This is standard practice at our club please advise of the intent rule on this one. I'm looking forward to the trip to Sydney as everyone else is from Adelaide.Cant wait to race some new classes ,meet the people i speak to from time to time and drive on another different slot track. Also like to mention some clubs that race on Friday nights look like changing there race night so people can attend Hornsby and still not miss there local club night. Guest jazzbell
Thanks for the rule update from Hornsby and Garry Johnson for doing the changes. Thanks John/Yngwie for the link for the rules as well. Take note these are final and No more changes will take place with the rules. The rules are straight forward and there has been plenty of time for talk on changes. What people have talked about has all been gathered and been high lighted for whats new. stoo23
Hi guys,.. I Too, would like to thank all those who have been involved/helped in the Promotion of this event. The Stickers and artwork look Great !! Sounds like there Will be a rather Healthy number of attendees!,.. As to the questions re the Super resistant Cars in the Scalextric GT Class, the inclusion of the car as used on the page of the rules, was purely an Image that I believe GaryJ chose to simply represent the class per/se, to give the rules a bit of added 'Colour' etc and was NOT intended to be a 'Reference',... Whilst the Rules do Not perhaps Refer Specifically to those Cars,..their 'Exclusion' can I believe be Gleaned from the Rules, as stated under the section dealing with the Body it States; 5. The original windows must remain clear and in place at all times. Arguably a somewhat difficult task to acheive, if the Windows are/were Never clear and are in fact Black !!! Regarding the Resistors/Capacitors etc. etc, attached across the Motor or Guide, (as fitted to some cars when purchased New), they CAN be removed! And finally, regarding the thread on the ASCRA Forum, I 'Posted' the info there Mainly for people that frequent that forum that may Not also frequent This forum and May have been interested in possibly attending. I have Now posted a Reference in the ASCRA thread, to This Thread as the Main Source of info regarding the Event! first corner crash
I don't think it says they are not allowed but it does say that the original interior must stay in place. Do they have an interior? If they don't then that would count them out Also says the original clear glass must be maintained and i think the supers have blacked out windows? In that case it would count them out. I am no expert on super resistants as i don't have any but i don't think they were the intent of this class but i could be wrong. I would just race a regular scaley car as that would seem the logical thing to do but someone else will think different. Be interesting to see if anyone turns up with a black window GT. Still looking forward to the Nationals especially to see how Ratracer goes with my 1/32 Plafit. It deserves a better driver than me. Just went back and looked again at the posters that you accused me of slagging off at, they are brilliant. Neither of them show black window cars!! Davnic74
Looking over the Scalextric GT rules this morning I noticed in the eligible cars section that the Mclaren F1 and Chapparel are listed, is this a typo? stoo23
Hi Davnic,...No,..it's Not a 'Typo',... The McLaren is Obviously Not the F1 car,..but the F1 GTR and the Chappy, is the CanAm car,..which whilst arguably Not being a GT car,..Has been allowed to run in HSC's regular club Scalextric races, so was included here. This class was mainly for 'the Locals', as in 1/32, Scalextric is the Only class/cars run regularly at HSC. Hi Stu Please excuse me but can I correct you on something The Mclaren referred to in the rules is the McLAREN MP4-12C, not the F1 GTR. Scalex don't do that model. The Chappy in the scalex range is the 2F which was a sports prototype and not a CanAm. maybe you have confused them with the Slot It cars which are the F1 and Can am cars. stoo23
Errr,...DOH !!! Yep,..silly me,..you are ofcourse absolutely correct! My apologies for whoever it was that made the (Incorrect) McLaren F1 inclusion in the 'updated' rules. It is as you say the McLaren MP4/12c. I am somewhat annoyed with myself regarding the Chappy, as I really should and DO Know better,..I even have the definitive Chappy Book as well,..I blame the conversation I was having with Shane the other day, for derailing my mind !!,..rofl,..Heck,..I even own one of the 2F's !! Oh well,..I'll claim advancing age as my excuse !!,.. :D Thanks for the correction Lenny Quote https://ascra.com.au/ https://aussieretro.ascra.com.au/
