Monday night saw the start of our new series at X-Treme

Scalextric Mustangs & Camaro's are car of choice & selection was fairly evenly spread between the 2.About 9 Stangs & 8 Camaros, unfortunately for the Camaro's they were about 1 second off the pace due to lack of magnet downforce.

With the numbers being fairly even it would make sense to have 2 separate races instead of trying to get parity by adding mags to the Camaro's.

Bloody Fords always looking to get an unfair advantage over the General. Now if we pull the mags out that'll stuff the Stangs a bit, maybe! B)

Hello every one

Just thought I'd start up a new post to let you know what we are racing on the Sunny south coast NSW.

Our Monday nite racing is a buy car, where you pay $15 to enter & at the end of the series you own it.Cars stay at the track until the series is finished, usually 6 weeks for Scalextric.

The type of car to be raced is by popular vote & then with or without mags is also decided by entrants.

We've been running the buy cars from day one & has been the most popular class, the regulars have built up a large collection of slotties ranging from Scalextric,SCX,Slot it,Carrera,Ninco,Fly & Auto art.

Scalextric Falcon's have just finished & was our most popular car with 24 entrants(that can't be right).Scalextric Commodores have just completed the second round & results are below.

We have 3 track to choose from & usually do 2 rounds on each.On the week between series we run a team enduro just for a bit of fun.

Thursday nite is 1/24th MJK Nascars for the first class & for new starters there are cars behind the counter avaliable for hire for the nite.

Second class is American Mussssell with the main difference being they can run any chassis & Plafit rear tyres which makes them a bit faster without being balistic.

With one round to go things are hotting up in our 1/24th racing at X-Treme.

American Muscle looks to be a 2 horse race between Paul{100 pts} & JJ{99pts}.These 2 guys love to beat one another so Thursday night will be a very intense race, good luck.

Nascars will be a battle between Cameron(99pts)Steve M(95pts)& Chris(92pts)

Here's last Thursday's results with newbies Sean, Floyd & Lachlan trying their luck at non Mag racing.

Last night at X-Treme we decided to split the Mustangs & Camato's into two separate races as it was too difficult to get parity with the unequal mag downforce.

We can now race against cars with equal performance, making our fun class more fun.

In the Stangs,Greg showed how quick they are with some consistant laps.220 laps for him with the top Camaro only doing 194,a huge difference in performance(bloody Fords).

Have a sneak preview of some of our Mini Z's that we will be racing at X-Treme Trax at the start of Series 3 in about 3 weeks time.

Rules are the same as the Plafit Nationals & we will be using the Pointer motor to start with.

I was talking to Werner from ACE Hobbies the other day & he was saying the Japanese use the Mini Z class as an introduction to Scale model car slot racing & I coulden't agree more.

The Kyosho bodies are beautifully finished & very robust making them ideal for slot racing.

Tonight saw the 7th & final round of our American Muscle & Nascar Series 2 at X-Treme Trax.

Cameron showed great consistancy to win tonights Nascar round & wrap up the Series 2 overall, maybe we all should have a closer look at his trick sprung mounting set up,well done Cam.

Steve just scraped into second overall with Chris really starting to get a handle on his Nascar with some really good lap times & putting together some very good race laps.

American Muscle was a 2 horse race between JJ & Paul for overall points with JJ blowing everyone away with a great drive under pressure.Paul sowed up 2nd with a consistant drive for a 3rd tonight & Chris in 3rd proving his Muscle car is no slouch either.

Here's tonights results.

This week at X-Treme on Monday night we raced down stairs on the Black Forest track. Can't report much as I had a crook gut & had a sickie. Can you have a sickie from slotcars?

Rd3ScalextricMuscle.jpg

Tonight we had a test & tune night before we get into series 3 starting next week.

Great to see Cameron turn up,had his appendix out yesterday & got out of Hostpital at lunch time today, makes my crook gut sickie look a bit lame.

Most of the boys took the opportunity to give their Mini Z's a blast & sort out some gearing under race conditions.

Here's some pics to of the field so far.

Here's tonights race results for Scalextric Muscle Cars at X-Treme.

Mustangs had the same 1st 2nd & 3rd as last week but on a different track proving the drivers are versatile as well as consistant.

David had a good win in Camaro's & if I'm not mistaken could possibly be his first victory, well done Dave.

Series 3 1/24th Scale racing kicked off last night with the Plafit Mini Z's making their racing debut at our track.

To fit the 3 classes of cars into a night's racing all races will be set at 2 min brackets.

In Nascars last series winner Cameron had a rough start to his title defence with 81 laps but still managing to top the lap time totals.

Greg also had a night to forget with his beautifull Coors T Bird suffering extensive front end damage in a non racing incident.Looks crap now Greg but I'll still give him $50 for the piece of junk.

JJ showed his good form from last series in American Muscle with another good performance at 104 laps to win Rd 1.

Mini Z's made their debut with some very close racing making sure they will a very competive class. The large variety of body styles made choosing very difficult & as you can see in the pic below not one car the same.

I was surprised with how good everyone's cars went, with limited experience in building Plafit cars all looks good for some exciting racing in the coming months.Gearing was the main topic of convisation & with a few more races under our belts, and sharing of setups all looks good for the future. :D

Tonight we raced Scalextric Muscle cars on the Diggers track at X-Treme.

The format was changed to 2 min brackets & all cars raced in the same race.

Racing was close as usual with the Mustangs leading the way due to their superiour mag but points will still be separated into 2 groups to make it more interesting.

Highlighted drivers in result sheet are running Camaro's

Last night saw the running of Round 6 & final round of Scalextric Mustangs & Comaro's at X-Treme Trax Dapto.

Steve Miller won the Stangs heat as he did in round 1,unfortunately a few waywood drives in the middle rounds hurt his overall points.Cameron's consistancy again gave him the win in the Stangs class.

Andrew had his first major victory in the Camaro's section with some very good drives winning 3 nights & his next worse performance was a 2nd,well done Andrew.

I will be the fill in journo for a few weeks while Jim is working hard on his tan in Hawaii.

Nascars saw the closest racing tonight with 3 of us sharing 1st spot and only 2 laps separating the top 5 drivers. American muscle had the bumpers flying with Greg and Rod having a rear ender in the esses, in the end Chris came home grinning on 101 laps. Mini Z saw Greg pull off the win with his nice yellow Corvette and some good racing in this class again. I’ve got some work to do to my MZ to try and catch the big boys at the pointy end.

Race results for 1/24 racing Thursday 22/09/2011.

Steve Miller had a great drive in Nascars to grab top spot by 1 lap. Rocket Rod's Pontiac was cranking along, smashing the field by 3 laps in American muscle. Some more close racing in Mini Z's with Chris and Gregg sharing the spoils in first. We had another visit from Scorpius Rick so I lent him my American Muscle and Mini Z, I think he is getting to like the bigger scale racing while testing his analogue controller. Thanks to JJ for lending me a couple of cars on the night also.

Race results for 1/24 racing Thursday 29/9/2011.

Close racing in Nascars as usual this week.

Some of the American Muscle car boys need to check the diff oil as pinions were coming off faster than a brides nightie :D Chris couldn’t even find his which was lucky for the rest of us as his new car is weapons grade when you look at his lap times. Jason’s Mustang was also running hard in practice before his let go.

Mini Z’s saw JJ come home with the goods with his Aston running quick. Greg and myself had some fabulous door to door racing for 4 or 5 laps before I came unstuck.

BTW, has Al found that part he was looking for yet???
