Results from tonight’s racing. Lots of close dices (apart from 65-80, where Phillip was so far ahead we couldn’t see him in the distance   )

The Thunderslot 4hr has been run and won. Thanks to everyone who fronted on such a beautiful Hawke's Bay day and special thanks to Pip for the Race Catering package we have all come to expect.

There was some brilliant racing, lots of close dices and some high quality nerfing (I'm looking at you Crockett) - just the way an enduro should be.

At this point it would be politically correct to say that slot car racing was the winner on the day, but f%#k that - Gill, Graeme and I led from the get go, and never looked liked losing. Shoutout to Graeme who really stepped up and kept on the pace every step of the way. There's no doubt in my mind he brought home the win.

I too would like to thank Mac for another great event.

But...

I want to call out some bad behaviour by Gary at the driving stations, most of you where probably not aware of what happened, when I was on Red, Gary was on yellow, when we started, he was standing with his back to me, as the race progressed he slowly walked backwards forcing me to move, until he was standing in front of red station, I could only move because Pedro was over further. When I asked Gary, he said he didn't realise and I gave him the benefit of the doubt.

The when I started on Blue and Gary was on Red, same thing again, he started with his back to me and slowly walked back on me, this caused me to loose control of my car a couple of times and I got angry, it was deliberate action not accidental. I threatened him but the actions didn't stop, I was getting annoyed and asked Mark to come in early. Some of you may have seen Mark push him back, I want to thank Mark as he did what I wanted too, but I would have been more aggressive and it was best I remove myself before I did anything like that.

Well it was a great afternoon, my ego felt a bit bruised after doing my utmost best to just keep up with GraEME when we shared track time, only to have him tell me later “It was good having you set a comfortable pace for me to circulate” - or something similar

- Great to have Gill come up for the event, and Wongy and Munter back on track.
I for one am sorry for venting my own frustration over the driver station thing. Lets all kiss and make up.

We are overdue back at Oakland this week. Gates open at 5:45 - as I have stuff to do first. Motorway traffic is much better now that the Redclyffe/ Waiohiki bridge has re-opened

Week 2

1 Pre 65 Classics

2 Slot It Group C

3 Modern Le Mans (GT1 & LMP1 & LMP2 cars)

But I am going to skip the kissing bit if that’s okay with everyone.

If my calculations are right, not guaranteed, Mac, Gill and Graeme averaged 6.91 sec per lap for 4 hours.

I took a while to get the hang of car/controller but I felt that by the end I was starting to get a little faster, despite being a little tired. Our round 4/4, (I know, a faster lane), was closer to what we needed.

Perhaps track time really helps.

i don't think any amount of nerfing was going change the result

I knew by half way in the first heat it was going to take a miracle to beat team Mac

i had fun though and i did get a 6.34 lap in so I'm stoked with that
