teamredracing
Hi guys , have finished another Minto Park Raceway .Cant keep up with how many this is. Some will be happy to know that there is no bog in it at all. It does slightly resemble the old track with a few differences . Sweeper have been moved and a few tight turns put in. Total length is 16.7mtrs on all lanes .Board is now 4.2 long by 2.0 mtrs wide thanks to Gazza for welding it up. Base board is mainly 3 ply and masonite with the track being 9mm . Surface is a light grey suede and 1 coat of clear thanks to Mel (OTFS) . Braid was from SlotsNZ (Mark). And a few hours put in by my boys . Thanks to all ,hope the track rubbers up well cause I'm not building another(well not for a little while any way) as per SWMBO .Some times have been put down ,around the 6.5,6.3's but know it will get better with time. So here are some pics. Will put up a vid at a later date. Drivers Stations Making sure I can race trucks Now undercoated Suede now painted Braid down Quick grow grass and ready for racing Have put a few homeys and cars around the track since these pics were taken. As I said I'll put up a vid soon Quote Craig "You can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time”. teamredracing
Thanks guys ,Mel I looked at the ones on the wall and thought thats the way I want them . I since swapped the blue and the red lanes around as it was a bit difficult seeing the bottom part of the track . Hey bandit ,I'll put the track up against the wall and show you when I actually started it back in Dec 2011. I was going to post everything up as how to build a track in a day, which would have worked out fine as the last pic of the track was taken about 7.30 -8.00pm at night . No probs Viv if you can wait 8 months I'll have it finished for you. Yes Joe NO BOG, I'll even let you run a magnet over it to see if you can find any . And no sqeezes either. Charlie ,your going to have to come over before you ship out . slots
Looks good there Craig. One question, how high are the fences on the bridge? Quote Stu Old racers race harder
teamredracing
High enough for you to drive your normal way and launch you cars off. If you notice Stu its not the sweeper of old . I made the fencing high enough that no car will be able to use it as an advantage. Tried the likes of the Slot it Jags and the rear wing will get hung up on it and there you'll stay. Outside lane to fencing is 100mm so if you want to try and use it as leverage with any other non winged car be my guest but you'll loose about 2-3 sec's every time you do. Even the trucks are handicapped as the left ,right changes on the bridge and the hairpins are there let downs. teamredracing
Heres the vid I promised . Taken from the phone on top a of a fridge at about 8.00pm at night.First car is the Slot it Bud Light Jag ,then the Sisu truck and finally the Scx Aston Martin. Track was cold so traction was down a bit. Quote Craig "You can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time”.
