SlotsNZ
It is no secret that Hawkes Bay club use the forum for bragging, blagging, organising, and general communications, and are the biggest gasbags on forum. - We caught St Andrews? up on sheer volume and left them whispering in our wake a couple of years back. We know that not all members will use Facebook, so this still seems to me the best place for a repository of data, news and information. We have found it brilliantly useful over the years. I am surprised at how many people from other places actually read our ongoing conversations, and presumably gain some interest or useful information from what we do. These days we are almost the only club which does use it regularly. - So what are other clubs doing - especially those who move around a series of tracks, rather than just turning up at the same fixed venue each week? charlesx
Hi all. Like SlotsNZ and HB I have tended to use FB as a comms tools for our Taranaki slotties and other people who occasionally join us but only as an add on to our usual email and occasional text messages. Have also of late of my own volition used to add pieces that I thought might be of interest to a wider audience. This has included some out of town results, track systems of tracks for sale and building projects. To date several hundred people have viewed and in many cases passed on their congratulations for the content. Must say however that I also enjoy reading the HB news. Would add that it is a pity you cannot select multiple options in the survey. I had no option but to select "other". mattcrackers
Usually a short text message with shed opening times. We do have a race calender on the WASCRG site which shows the date and classes of the next event. Usually every fortnight, depending on Syd's work hours. We can comment on the WASCRG site but not all members will look at this so texts works the best for us.
