Classic SCX/Scalextric to Sport upgrade - which powerbase

Dear Auslot Forum

I am upgrading my classic SCX/Scalextric layout to Scalextric Sport. I am still finalising the order which requires about 100 new pieces of track. I don't have any of the new Sport track yet. (Hopefully before Xmas?)

I currently power my track with a Powertech MP3800 variable DC power supply (purchased from Armchair) and I have x2 SCX Parma controllers and x1 TruSpeed controller with phone jacks. The power supply connects to the SCX Terminal Track 88780 which takes the phone jacks.

I have been lent a Sport C8217 powerbase (and 2 standard controllers), which requires two (2) DC power inputs, so not ideal with my power supply. However, I can get power to the track (one lane at a time) but the SCX Parma controllers don't  work and the TruSpeed controller does work!?

My question - which Scalextric (Sport) powerbase is compatible with my power supply and SCX and Truspeed hand controllers?

Regards

Mark Coulthard
