SlotsNZ
I spotted a UK dealer selling a combo project Fly Alfa 156 GTA body with a light weight interior, and 3D chassis and wood guide by Sloting Plus. The chassis is designed for Slot.it pod spacing, it has holes for M2 grub screws to set axle height from above and below. It seems a bit rough in the print, and pretty flexible, so it won’t be a rocket ship, but I hope to get it running well enough to run as a “guest car” in our DTM class. I had to ream out the pod and body screw holes, they had a bit of rubbish in the shafts, and were generally a bit under size for the M2.1 half thread screws It isn’t actually legal for our club classic DTM class as the 156 was released in 1997, and the original DTM series ceased in 1996 …. Decided to work it up with a Slot.it pod, the 21k motor as used in DTM models, 12:33 gearing to start, and some small diameter ScaleAuto 15.8mm “light weight” wheels - which are only 8.5mm wide at the boss, as a sidewinder is a pretty tight fit under a relatively small saloon car. With a fairly small OD on the DWG 1207 profile N18 rear tyres I am gluing up, I may need to drop to a 31 tooth spur to get anywhere vaguely close to a Slot.it DTM Alfa in a straight line. It does look quite good in stance. Have low profile zero grips on front, since I can’t superglue any front surfaces to polish, as the glue isn’t going hard in this foul weather, and Tamiya accelerator doesn’t help much. 1 Quote Custodian of many used screws (quite a few loose ) * Recovering Lapsed Slot Addict * Companion of other delusional slot addicts * Total kidder

LowRider
It should be an improvement on the original chassis and if it doesn't go the best it at least looks fast!

SlotsNZ
Put it all together today. Ended up with the 15.8mm ScaleAuto wheels shod with Slot.it 1171 N22 (trued diameter 19.2) Clearance about 0.8mm The pod weight is 6.3gm, the side chassis weights ~1.9gm each side, and 1.4gm behind the motor. With body on, rolling weight is 79gms. I may add some weight just behind the guide, but meanwhile I have a smooth runner. The wheelbase is 3mm longer than the Slot.it Alfa 155, 1mm narrower than the 1993 version which actually came out in Jäegermeister livery, and 3mm narrower than the later version Slot.it Alfas. It also has 3mm less guide lead, so it can’t be expected to match them on track, but a fun build, nice looking car, using an economical kit plus spare bits from the parts chests. I expect it is at least as quick as the racing version of this model which Fly put out some years back 1 Quote Custodian of many used screws (quite a few loose ) * Recovering Lapsed Slot Addict * Companion of other delusional slot addicts * Total kidder
