Chris in the A.C.T.
We run a G.P. Heros class for pre rear engined F1 / Indycars. I built these with just a simple styrene plastic chassis and powered by really cheap motors I bought from Dick Smith before they disappeared. The motors have a sticker stating 3v - 6v but running at 12v what could go wrong? They feel like they rev out to about 10,000 - 12,000rpm but no torque and complain if they have to cart a bit of lead ballast around. I race a different one each round to spread the load and on rare occasion even make a podium but only if a couple of the club 'Aces' who all run Cartrix models have a dnf. The #4 Lago-Talbot is a John Bacon fiberglass The #20 Lancia-Ferrari is a slightly modified Hawk plastic model The #4 Maserati is an Airfix/MRRC plastic shell The #2 Ferrari Squalo, #26 Lancia - Ferrari and #10 Mercedes are all fiberglass from Classic in the U.K. And because I had way too much time on my hands the drivers all get Hawaiin shirts . Thanks for looking, Chris.

Vinno
The old Western Sydney race group used Dick Smith motors before NC1 became a thing. Similar revs but less torque and no brakes.
Paulslots
Nice cars, Would be bit of a blast all together. A 1959 Ferrari I built along the same line as our old Tasman cup cars. Good little car to drive. Penelope Pits kit SRP 16 and slot it running gear.
mtpanorama
Very nice cars there. Don't worry about the Dick Smith motors, I have them under a few of my John Bacon cars that were built years ago and are still going strong. Quote Corporate greed is driving inflation.
