waldo05
Question: how do I get 12v to the track if I'm running relays and an Uno? If the uno is plugged into the pc it's getting power from it, maybe 5v, and the relays are plugged into the 5v pins on the uno. So plugging the track into the relays would only give 5v to the track? I like the idea of track call buttons so I'm hoping to get this going.
mtpanorama
You have to have a separate 12 Volt power supply for the track which is wired through the contacts of the relays, that way when the uno turns on or off the relay this will turn on/off or off/on the power to the track which ever way you need it. I just found a diagram that showed that. There is a lot of wiring to get my head round. Will a 12v relay work or is that to much for the arduino? mtpanorama
If you have a 12 Volt relay you can try it and see if it works but it may struggle to operate with only 5 Volts. Or you could just get these: https://www.jaycar.com.au/arduino-compatible-5v-relay/p/XC4419 Quote Corporate greed is driving inflation. Cash doesn't crash, use it or lose it.
