pmdaniels
Hi, Just found this great site last week and it got me all enthused again. So on the weekend I went out to the shed and cleared all the old Vespa and Lambretta parts off of my track, and got it up and running again.hasn't been used for about 6 years. .Here's acople of photos Not as big as some of your tracks on here but when it was built it was in a 3m x3m garden shed!I could extend it now. The computer is an Amiga 128 (historic) running a Johnson Racing program. Unfortunately the tyres on the cars have gone rock hard and are unusable. Most of them are MRRC tyres on Cox 1/32 rims.Does any one know where I can get replacements.Modern tyres are way too wide. Vinno
Have a look at MJK tyres some of them may be suitable. Most of the forum sponsors sell them so try your local.

sports850
That looks nice and neat , what is the board the track's made out of ? You got my attention with the mini's though ( :( ) , they look like scalextric bodies to me , are they on other chassis or still scalextric ? SlotsNZ
Nothing wrong with small tracks . . . except they make you want big tracks . . and more cars . . . they're all fun to drive. pmdaniels
Hi all, the track size is 2.4m x 1.2m and is MDF board with copper tape, which tends to buckle up on hot summer days due to the track being out in a tin garden shed. Also apart from the lap counters there is only one join in the tape . If I had laid it in smaller sections maybe it wouldn't buckle so bad ? Yes the Minis are Scalex bodies. The green one just has the front axle and guide raised so it sits lower on the track. The red one is home made chassis that goes quite well ! Quote PeterD
sports850
Thank's for that , they look great , brass chassis is very neat .

wizardgm
The red one is home made chassis that goes quite well ! Hi there, the red chassis looks like a well made copy of the english ones from the mid eighty's, including delrons and metal gears !! Did you race at the Bacon track in the past ? I Am The Walrus
Yes Dennis I did used to race at John Bacon's track ,sorry for the slow reply Yep, I think we're all agreed. I Am The Walrus
Re the jump... I watched 'Speed'. Pretty sure they managed it in a bus. Apparently they gain height when they take off. pmdaniels
Very funny guys . The pic was just to give you a general idea of what I am doing . The last piece will be cut when I am sure of the length . Quote PeterD
lenny broke
No seriously Pete, it does look good, with a nice flow to it and wide lane centres for 1/24 I assume. what direction will it go in? pmdaniels
Hi Alan it will not be in the same class as yours I don't have enough skill or patience . The cars will travel from right to left along the front straight (clockwise) . Yes I have made lane spacing 110mm and left 180 mm on the outside of corners so I can use 1/24 as well . pmdaniels
I didn't think people would come and look at this old thread , I only just re found it myself . I thought it was deleted long ago . I have started a thread in the SA tracks section (new shed new track ) and will post more info on my new track there. Thanks for looking .
